As a strong high pressure has extended to cover the upper part of Thailand and South China Sea, outbreaks of cool to cold spells are likely between Feb 12-14, according to the 11am advisory of the Meteorological Department on Sunday. A decrease in temperature is likely by 1-3 degree Celcius, with windy conditions. Therefore, peopole should beware of severe and changeable weather condition. From Feb 12-16, since the strong northeast monsoon prevailing across the Gulf of Thailand and the South will result in waves 2-3 metres high, people living along the Gulf's coastline should be cautious about inshore surges. All vessels are advised to proceed with caution, and small boats should stay ashore during the period, said the advisory.
